well, sluggo, i was getting the same bluescreen issue (with all the language about a data dump and etc etc) with protools and waves plugs until i updated the pace drivers, then those are operating flawlessly, and i no longer have those issues. with acid and p5, the issue seems to be the rewire drivers, or at least, those are the kind of errors i'm getting. i hadn't thought of shifting card drivers around...i was set up thru mbox and so using the digidesign asio driver. maybe i'll try it with the creative asio (i have sb audigy2 zs) driver and then i can also try direct sound and mme, which, like you i rarely use. i also thought, while waiting for replies from sony and cakewalk, i may copy these application's rewire dll's to disk (to back-up) and then delete them and see how the apps work. if that fixes it, i may go no further because rewire ain't my thing usually (except to see what it does for fun) and i'm sure eventually things will catch up. hardware-wise, i have a dell with all that came with it. my only changes were the addition of mbox and then all the software. drivers for my usb keyboard and like that. the bluescreen does suggest uninstalling new software. i think i'm just running into growing pains with servicepack2, to be honest with you. i can't possibly be the only one having these issues.

I am! Have yet to produce something 100% with it, though. I've always been interested in its workflow (particularly) since seeing an in-store demo at a local music store.Beardedone wrote:Is anyone here actually using P5?
If only Reason's workflow was near that good! But that's what Rewire is for, I suppose: mix and match. Don't know if you'd ever find a use for P5 on top of FLS, Live, and eXT though: that's quite a full house already!
However, remember that a lot of the included DXi synths and FX in P5 are products of other companies: RGC, FXpansion, Ableton. Likely there'll be some extra stuff in P5v2, but I suppose it's a gamble until all the details are released.

You're not kidding. And I have too many VSTis that I still don't understand how to program. After two hours with the Symptohm tutorial I am still just scratching the surface it is unbelieveably dense. Now I am looking to WusikStation which is almost unfathomable.Don't know if you'd ever find a use for P5 on top of FLS, Live, and eXT though: that's quite a full house already!

Dang, here it is April 30th, I just scored a copy of P5 V.1 for $129, and the doc for the free upgrade isn't on their website any more.dougsyo wrote:If you buy P5 between now and April 30, you'll get the upgrade to V2 when it comes out for free. See http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/Project5/default.asp
Anyone got it? I think it was a PDF you mailed in...
Edit: I wasn't the only one that had that problem. According to this article on the CW P5 forum, it can be found here (See the right side, under Resources).
I also have a copy now
