for the first time, im getting clicks, pops, and stutter while recording wave files live, and while playing back others that were recorded succesfully i nthe past. ive used T for the last 2 years and this has never been an issue.
what im tring to do is record the outputs of my juno 106 at 24 bit. i have have a track set up with midi data and the output is set to my midi out on my soundcard. i then have a track with my audio input connected to a new track to record the juno. during recording, the audio is all stuttered. playback same thing.
while just playing back the edit, without tring to record it plays back as smooth as can be. i tryed, reboot, defrag, and all that. any suggestions?
amd 2.7 1gig of ram win xp(optimized for audio)

The obvious first explanation would be that the extra overhead of recording the file as well as playing back the track is too much for the system. This is more likely to be your HD failing to keep up than your cpu.. do you have a large number of audio tracks playing back already? If so, try freezing them all.. Also check that you are recording the new track to the correct drive / partition.

ok, when i get a chance ill try freezing some tracks first. this is the only audio track i got going but there about 9 other midi tracks feeding to vsti's going on, but i had them muted when rying to record.
ill see if freezing them effects anything
thanks, .

if it's m-audio you should also take a look at there forums for driver issues. also try it without any other miditrack in tracktion. i've reccon sometimes extreme cpu usage with midiplayback in tracktion, maby also when there're just muted.
