Why are they not restricted to their own channel only ? Ive been goofing up deleting other tracks automation lines thinking they belonged to the selected track.... I think this could come in handy when you want two tracks to have similar automation... but still..

automation curves are just that.. automation curves.. they are linked to the object (that being the plugin), not the track. It makes a lot of sense when you really think about it.

automation curves can be shown on any track. whilst this may seem confusing, it offers a number of advantages: not least that your can automate several parameters on a single vst at once.

what i do is just rename a new track according to the plugin being automated and only view automation for that filter on that track (i usually place it immediately below the track that actually holds the filter) ... this way (provided you remember to stick to it) its much easier to keep track of what goes where ...
... if i need to see more than one parameter curve for the same plugin alongside the first i just add another 'automation track' below the existing one with an incremental name (ie - impOSCar automation 01 / impOSCar automation 02 / etc) ...

Tip: if you delete the Vol/Pan filter and Level meters for the automation tracks it makes it easier to see at a glance whats going on. (IMO)
