is it truly lossless?

Yes, unless you lose it. :) There is a 2:1 lossless compression option. (Like an audio version of the zip format) And 3 'lossy' formats. And 1:1 lossless format. Just click export and try the variations.

Just use 1:1, as it'll store everything as plain old .wav.

Tracktion lossless compression uses FLAC for compressing audio.

In the edit screen

export> create an archive of this edit

you'll get a dialog box. In the 'compression' dropdown select 'no compression'.

That's kinda like getting in your car and driving around your block to get to your next door neighbor's house.

Just get a crossover cable, or a small cheap switch and a couple cat5 cables.

Ok..so how are the two computers getting onto the internet? Sharing a DSL/Cable connection with a router? If so, then you may alreay be connected, just need to enable file sharing on the laptop...
