I just got my follow up email saying that Kontakt 2 is being shipped to me now and containing the registration code. So it should be arriving soon, hopefully by the end of the week.

I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?forum_us - looks like the convolutionis a cpu destroyer and i ahve a nasty feeling that drag and drop hasn't been implemented for beat slicing
the ksp thing gets mucho praise on another thread too

For reference, I got my Absynth 3 "Now shipping" email 4 days before I received it. Two of those days were on the weekend. I live on the east coast of the US. So I don't think K2 will take weeks to get here, based on that.

I got Kontakt 2 a few days ago (Complete Care 2005 - Greece). Installation and registration were straightforward and without problems (Windows XP Pro SP2). K2 looks good. The user interface takes a little to get used to, compared to Kontakt 1.5, but nothing to worry about. Lots of new features. The included sound library is huge, about 15GB, so installing it took ages (but you only do it once, ok?). The sounds are varied. Others are excellent/top-class, others just good, but this is just my personal opinion. I have NOT found one that could be blamed as bad/unusable, and i certainly have NOT listened to all of them yet. The sound is better than Kontakt 1.5 (new sound engine?); it certainly sounds BIGGER. The Script feature has LOTS of potential. Bottom line: I LOVE IT!!!!! it's great! My only complaint: No human choir samples. Now the other samplers have to play catch up.

To be fair, Kontakt 2 has borrowed a lot of its new features from existing samplers -Sotiris wrote:Now the other samplers have to play catch up.
RAM save from HALion 3
Convolution from Gigastudio
Scripting could arguably equated with Gigastudio 3 iMIDI
This isn't a putdown so much as a reality check. I do believe that there is a great chance that Kontakt 2 will do all this and more even better than the other samplers. I'm certainly waiting impatiently for my copy to arrive. I bought into Komplete 2 at such a time as to be eligible for the free upgrade to Kontakt 2, but as I am not a Komplete Kare owner I have to wait along with all the "little people"
