how do i register this copy that came with my mixer so that i can use it in the ABSENCE of the mixer.
im not always going to be wanting to take this huge onyx everywhere so that i can mix.
i want to be able to do it with headphones on the plane, in the boat, under the car, on a horse....wherever i can take my laptop...
i don't see anything in the packaging... am i missing something? or is this one of those damned NFR copies?
this is a little more than frustrating.

I really don't know what the deal you have is, but usually if software comes as part of a hardware deal then it will be locked to that hardware.
This would be a question for mackie support though, so you'd probably get more mileage on the mackie forum, or by mailing support directly.

i went to www.mackie.com/authorize. registered everything and got the key and im golden.
and i registered the mixer there as well.
today was a good day. i sent my computer off for RMA repair a long time ago, and then i ordered the 1640 and the firewire card. the UPS guy woke me up this morning with three boxes. my puter, mixer and firewire card. i had a fun day.
