Speculation: Reason for the T2 delay

I'll go out on a limb, and this is just wishful thinking, glass half full etc, but...

Wouldn't it be great if the delay was (partioally) related to negotiating the bundling of a beat-slicing plug like Micro-dicer or Phatmatik Pro? Maybe even a better native time-stretch algorithm?

This is really the only weak area left in T2 and after the initial glowing reviews (except in this regard) maybe they did a rethink and decided to include something to fulfill this gap?

Anyway, it sure would be nice.

actually I was considering buying those looper software and i know that at least dicer wont be in t2 unless they suddenly sprung it on em

I suspect it's more like the fact that as a 'real' product (ie. not just download), it's taken longer than anticipated for things like mastering the CD, printing the packaging, developing nifty life-sized Julian Storers to hold a box as a store display.

Things like that, which are largely out of Mackie's hands as they're all sourced to CD reproduction and packaging companies.

I'm sure that's it!

It would but I very much doubt it.

A plug-in would be great though, and do-able.

But I am not holding my breath (I'd be a funny shade of purple by now if I was  )

Na, it's the WAV 2Gbz file limitation stopping recording over 1-3 hour continuously. It's taking long to fix because each test takes another 1-3 hours

I was under the impression that it would be the loose wimen on holding the box, thus making them tax deductable?

On a serious note though, my money is on one plug or another to be negotiated and contractwritten.

Macke has done a few software releases before, so they should know how much time it takes to print/label/boxify etc.

I would like to, but wont, hold my breath for the slicing features. are the Micro-dicer or Phatmatik Pro both win32 and os x?

Phatmatik is cross-platform.

kind of.

The PC version comes and goes.

I would never buy a PC version of anything from Bitshift.

At this point, it's far more likely that the holdup is in pressing, packaging, or shipping.

I wasn't serious, just wishful thinking.

That sounds reasonable. My guess would also be that since they missed the early March deadline, they might aswell wait for Musikmesse to make a bigger splash.
