Aux send/return & latency

Been playing a little more & i've noticed that the aux send & return buses introduce latency (even if used with 0 latency plugs). so for instance I had a track sending to a reverb & a delay - & the advance went up to 11.6 ms. Kinda dissapointed in this - as using modulr's senderella I can do the same thing zero-latency, and there's no discernable difference in cpu hit between the two. I was looking forward to an integrated zero latency send/return system, a latency introducing system is okay for playback - but for jamming live it's a pain if u know what i mean. If modular managed to do this it begs the question why the sytem in T2 couldn't work this way.

The T2 demo doesn't allow one to render, but I have got around that by using various in's/outs on my pulsar & with a fairly complex test arrangement utilising racked up multi-output vsti's & varying amounts of multiple sends & returns averything seems to record & keep in sync ok, only a quick test obviously, i didn't get all anal & start checking all that phase cancellation & other techy business. It sounded ok quickly jamming also so hmmmm, maybe not so bad.

Why? Mod's plugin is written in Delphi, Tracktion is C++aldi wrote:i know that modular hade made the sourcecode for sendarella public, so it's even more dissapointing

I really struggle to get interested in this as an issue. Mod's senderella does what you want. It's free. You've got a copy of it. Off you pop and use it.

Mod's send uses a workaround approach that is not really suitable for a commercial release form. Because of the constraints of the vst system he needed to make assumtions about the delivery order of audio blocks that cannot be trusted to be correct. It's a credit to him that it works as well as it does, but I wouldn;t like to think that Jules was using tricks like that inside Tracktion.
