Update on my T2 purchase adventure

Adventure is a bit dramatic, because it couldn't have gone smoother.
OK, Mackie confirmed my purchase last night was only for T1, so I cancelled my order. Mackie support and staff was great, very nice guys. They did mention that if I kept the license, I would get a good upgrade discount off T2. I couldn't take them up on it because of political issues with my wife, but if anyone still not owning T1 and looking to get T2 wants to save some money, it really sounded as if it would be a great deal. "It would behoove me" was the language used, and the guy was really cool so I trust him.
If I can come up with the extra cash or otherwise make my wife think I should spend $80 on software from the family fund, then I'll try and buy it again before it ceases to be available. Otherwise I guess I'll be buying it for $149 retail.
I really have a good feeling about the upgrade price after talking with Mackie. They get a Gold Star®!

I'm on the side of the swimming pool with my feet in the water. I was alway kind of 'in' I wouldn't hang out on the forum if I weren't a Tracktion fan. I just have limited resources and need tools that do what I need. Specifically, I need to find a solution to timestretching that works for me, if I could be assured this was coming soon to Tracktion I could patiently wait for it, say for 6 months. Plugs are a problem for this because I want to use T cross platform and don't want to pay too much for this.koolkeys wrote:So does that mean you're in? Welcome back if you are!

Beno did mention that timestretching was an option for maybe a 2.1 release or something like that. So I'm sure it's high on the list of things to add.

Yeah, considering all the complaining we've done. It will all be worth it.

btw. I thought the price would be £149, not $149...
All I can say is any time I get off the phone with a customer rep and I'm smiling, it's a rare experience to be cherished and remembered. That went a long way towards my feeling I am a Mackie customer, even though I was getting a refund. I'll buy T2 just to support the product now, even if I don't get all the bells and whistles my heart desires. In time I have faith they'll come.

Didn't someone mention that mackie is trying to buy a timestretch code, (or whatever the tech name for it would be)a while back?braj wrote:Specifically, I need to find a solution to timestretching that works for me,koolkeys wrote:So does that mean you're in? Welcome back if you are!

that was just speculation - I haven't seen anything concrete from mackie on this issue so far.
