Okay, on balance I think I like Tracktion 2, so congratulations to Jules. But how about a round of applause for those who wrote the much-needed manuals - good job, guys.

I agree, they are truly great manuals. And they even go into more than just Tracktion. They actually help you understand digital audio a bit! Good job guys!

I'm just amazed the manual doesn't start "AFAIK Tracktion is a software sequencer [1]"
chico
[1] Yes, it is. I checked and everything.

Yep, the User Guide is _excellent_.
Sort of an opus that will save hours of headscratching and websurfing from someone new to DAW stuff, and well written.
Thanks & congratulations!

I was just joshing obviously valley, i even took advantage of the works laser printer to do a printed copy, and got it bound. I've been using T long enough not to *need* it, but i like having it, and it reads well

OK, since I have already been outed as the manual writer, I'd like to also make sure that the layout guy(s) at Mackie get due respect and thanks also!
Thanks for the kind words people.
Chico, your posts aren't *that* obscure.
The reference manual is not entirely complete - time constraints meant that some things could have been covered more fully. I'm working on some improvements. In the mean time, I hope the manuals help people out.
BTW, this was the reason why I pulled the adbe content. Sorry to all the people that were searching for it, and sorry that I didn't have time to reply to all those who wrote to me asking where the content had gone. I was actually too busy writing the manuals to reply.
One thing I would like to add, purely on a personal level: working on the manual gave me the priviledge of working fairly closely with some of the people who were responsible for bringing Tracktion 2 to fruition, and I can honestly say, those people worked damn hard to get things as good as they could get them. I for one have no doubts at that Mackie is truly committed to Tracktion, and I think Tracktion is in very good hands.

Why, would you have not wanted this to go public?since I have already been outed as the manual writer
I thought it was pretty obvious anyway.
