What is this for, exactly? A colorful screen? Whimsy?

I think so.

If there's some hidden purpose I'll be interested to learn. It may be that there was something planned, but right now I think it just allows you to tag notes for whatever purpose you require. Much like the clip colour I guess.

I wish there were more contrast between colors. ALl the clip colors and note colors are very similar in their luminosity value.

For example, I would like a black clip color, or very dark grey to go with light midi notes.

Ideally I would like to set the colors, but if they are going to be preset, they should be more different from each other.

I noticed the colors as appears in the UI don't correspond to the colors in the current color scheme. So I do believe you can set these to behave however you like.

If selection by color will be possible, it might become a very handy feature (IIRC, FL does that)
