Is it possible to select some midi notes then use a key modifier to drag a copy? (in t1 or t2)

thanks

Control Key. (both versions, works with clips too) Release the control key before you drop the note and it will start to snap..

on my mac using T2, control does not make a copy. It deselects the selected notes and pulls up a context menu.

I am unable to drag a copy. I tried control/click drag and clic/control drag

Use the apple key instead.

Post

okay, that works, but the problem with that is that unless you zoom in close, it drags the note lengths out, rather than make a copy.

To make a copy you have to be zoomed in close enough to be in the middle of the note so as not to get the sideways arrows.

Do you have a scroll-wheel on a mac? I couldn't live without mine for zooming in Tracktion and Soundforge..

Post

yeah, the best Tracktion extra purcxhase any mac user could make is a two button wheel mouse. It'll greatly improve your Tracktion experience.
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!

oh, nice! I did not know the wheel zoomed. And yes, the first thing I do when I buy a new Mac is put the one button mouse on the shelf (never to be used again) and buy a 2+ button wheel mouse.

Still would like to copy drag without having to zoom way in, but the wheel makes it not too bad. thanks for the tip.

The wheel zoom is  I know it's not new, but still, it's still the business

To be specific:

Wheeling over the tracks will zoom horizontally.

Cntrl-Wheeling zooms vertically.

Shift-Wheeling over the tracks scrolls horizontally through the edit.

Wheeling over the filters or inputs areas scrolls vertically.

Ha! I was just about to post asking that. Thanks. I was actually not so happy with navigation, but the wheel is the key.

Do you use one of those? It looks very interesting (I've been suffering from bad mouse-arm pains recently: I've been averaging about 16 hours a day for a couple of years :nutter:) How long did it take you to adjust? Is it possible / easy to click-drag with one hand while holding a modifier key with the other?

Post

I have two of them and they absolutely saved my life.

particularly scrolling with the thumbs while holding Shift is great in T.

Its very easy to drag w/ a modifyer - I hold the button down and a modifier with my right hand and move the little bar with my left.

I found it very easy to adjust and now both hand rest on the wrist rests all the time - I never have to look to the mouse.

pure joy!
