So now that I have the demo.......I have no "purchased copy" T1.6?
You can't purchase T2 yet....
I have no uninstaller/way to revert (unless someone knows how to do this).........lost material.......
Delete everything and start over........man........you gotta be kidding.????

eh?
Your T1 will continue working for at least as long as your machine ids stay the same, and I hardly think Mackie will drop support of your registered version.
And how have you lost material? Tracktion 2 doesn;t delete anything.

T1 is still good. your files should not be touched. No worries.

T2 seems to sometimes replace your desktop icons with T2 ones, but it doesn't replace T1. By default it installs into the Tracktion2, but your T1 is still in the normal Tracktion folder. Just create a new link to it on your desktop.

i had to go back after deleting the T2 demo and re-do my key file for registration. i just went back to the "about" section and had to re-select the keyfile in the folder that it was placed in.
don't know why it did this, and it's not a big deal at all. i knew what to do, and took care of it right away with no headache. but some may not understand what to do to get the registration back in order. you may want to post a sticky up about this? or at least address it in some way?
i can see how some folks would completely implode over this.

No T1 registration data should have been lost. By default T2 installs into a different folder, and is invisible to T1. Removing T2 should not impact in any way on T1.
The only way you would be likely to have problems is if you force T2 to install into the old T1 folder, but if you were hoping to keep T1 in place, why would you do that?

Bullshit........It hijacked T1. The uninstallers were no longer there.....tracktion wouldn't even show up in the installed programs.valley wrote:eh?

I had to ""-rig my system to get it back right.......I lost some data.
I'm sure you believe it was me........that's fine.

I had lots of worries........I had some important stuff that got punked........semiquaver wrote:T1 is still good. your files should not be touched. No worries.
anyways........it doesn't matter anymore I won't f**k with the demo.........T1 was just fine.....the update is a waste.
Like I kept saying/still saying for 9 months.......it would have been fine to just keep adding updates........like the good ol days......doesn't anyone remember........"cool, a tracktion update......" fairly frequently. 9 months is too long for this (and you still can't purchase a key........I mean PLEASE!)......yo'd think someone was pregnant for full term........

I had trouble also.
I couldn't use the T2 demo because I am using win98.
So I uninstalled T2.
When I went to start T1 it showed up as 'unregistered".
I had to re-do the registration key and it registered.
Next, I found that none of my projects were listed.
I had to re-open every project.
Then some of the edits wouldn't open. I tracked the problem to a Vsti that wasn't initializing properly (something that had never happened before).
It took me a few hours to undo the damage.
And I can't use T2 without getting a new computer, so I'm out at least for the near term.

T2 demo also overwrote my T1 icons and paths, not hard to fix though. Keyfile & registration seemed untouched.

No problems with installing the demo. The only thing i had to do is make a separate link for T1. If you install T2 in a separate folder, nothing can go wrong.
