BTW for me it's whatever beat my toe is tpping to, rarely do I compose songs on drums. Usually it's guitar, bass or organ. So if I like the way a riff soundsI will record 4-8 measures and use a tap tempo. Then because I tend to speed up as I work on a song I tend to bump it up a few bpm...always trying to pust the envelope you know..
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

76 for a ballad
78 for uptempo.

edit: I'm trying really hard to write something above 120.

Wouldn't publishing an EP of 6 songs, each with a tempo of 111, make more sense?madLE wrote:666 m/h

That raises a good point. How do different time signatures affect your preferred tempo?S_A_P® wrote:I have trouble exceeding 90, unless I am in 3/4 meter...
Which time signatures were people using, when they made these "favorite tempo" statements?
Take care,
