I don't know what a pirece is, or I might be inclined to voice my opinion. ;)

It's an update.......sorry.....I still think we could have had this introduced in 1.7something.....1.8something......etc.

Little increments were more fun back in the day....something to look forward to.

I have a hard time believing the "happy" people are serious musicians........unless you are a beta tester..you still can't "use" the demo........

Still waiting beno.........you said it would all be anounced/released at once............. :x

Well, guilty for the beta-tester thing....

But you are foolish to think that it's only an incremental update. You say that the "happy" people aren't serious musicians??? That's ludicrous. I think the "unhappy" people haven't stopped to consider the new depth that has been added.

I think the unhappy people ought to be using another sequencer if they are that unhappy, surely? And if no other sequencer works, and they find they can't make music with any of them, then maybe they should stop and think about that...

I'm puzzled why so many people belive it is impossible to make music with T1. The TIA thread suggests that many people are more than capable of making good music with Tracktion, regardless of the version.
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!

I'll echo valley here. Why do some people think that the only way to be "serious" is to use the expensive bells-and-whistles equipment? You use what works for you.

Can we have an amen to that? I make all my songs with Tracktion 1, i use some soft-synths, Fl-studio as a VSTi and lots of audio-tracks with NO problems. I really don't understand some of the negativity towards Tracktion, be it 1 or 2 (i haven't tested T2 seriously yet, allthough the midi-editor is much easier to handle) . As always i think there is too much focus on the tech-side itself, without exploring the possibilities that Tracktion DOES have to your (music-making) advantage.

I think that's the best way I've ever heard it put. If there was a hall of fame for forum posts, it would be the first inductee.

Commentary and opinion is fine, but.....if you don't like it, just state your case, then take your $150 and go away. Don't be shredding our mellow, dudes. Life is too short.

I've held back commenting on the T2 demo because I wanted to use it as much as possible before forming any opinions about.

I have to agree, it's a fantastic improvement in a lot of areas that needed it. The MIDI editing was just what I wanted. It remembers the previous note size and generally, just adding MIDI notes by hand is a lot easier.

What originally made me think *eep* was that the default colour scheme was hideous for T2. Once I changed it back to the T1 scheme (hah! never thought I'd be doing that! :D) I just got down to looking for all the modifications and updates.

All in all, it does feel a bit like T1 with a bit of Nitro-boost. But it's very satisfying to use and I feel a bit sorry that Jules will hit a wall of dissapointment when no-one has even been forced to hand over a penny for T2 yet, if you don't want it, don't buy it.

But coming from a programming background, I think a lot of stuff has been changed 'under the hood', and that's where most development time is often spent.

why all this name-calling from both sides? :?

either it fullfills your expectations or it doesn't... - it's hilarious to draw any of the cunclusion you're all coming to from it...

I think the new 'depth' you're mentioning is pretty shallow considering the long time we had to wait for it - but that's just me of course...

Ever updated Soundforge or Sonar?
The change from SF 6 to 7 was mostly about changing the name from Sonic Foundry to Sony. Was this an incremental update? No, it got a full version number increase and cost 149.00 for a registered user.

If the changes from T1 to T2 don't amount to a full x.00 update, I don't know what would.

T1 was already at 1.6. You say T2 should have been released as 1.8. Newsflash 2.0 is only .2 higher than it should have been (according to some).

I feel there are an amazing number of improvements. Do I feel like Jules should stop coding now and consider it done? Hell NO! There are plenty of things to add, but I'm not disappointed by what they've provided us at this point.
