Anyone noticed? You can use the new plug-ins bundled with T2 in T1, render and all.
How cool is that!
Personnaly, I like the Mackie compressor. It sound good to my ears, and I can actually understand how to use it beyond the presets.
Thank's Mackie.

yea me to... THANX Mackie :D

Yeah kewl!!! FinalMix is bigger than the tracktion-only version, not sure what the actual differences are tho. The MDA plugs are the same, except for bandisto.

I know the only new plugs included with the demo are the Mackie compressors and the De-Esser, and I hadn't tried it yet, but wondered if they worked in T1.

I know Final Mix was part of the plug-ins made for the D8B console, and other than being ported to Tracktion only, it's always been the same one, with T1 and T2. The others, I wonder if they were programmed specifically for T or if they were from another console of Mackie's or something.

Whatever the case, they are very nice additions to an already great upgrade. Thanks Mackie!

Now I need to know if I can use these guilt-free, or if it was unintentional that they work in T1, which I got free in the first place? They work fine in T1, and I'd really like to be able to use the Sidechain Compressor that's included. Has anyone paid any attention to these compressors? They're definitely nice. I'd like to be using them in projects, but it doesn't seem likely that they'd mean for these to be free to T1 users.

I made some of the factory presets, and became very fond of them in the process.. they're very powerful little things, capable of very complex transfers combining upward & downward compression & expansion: serious stuff!

I would suggest that you go ahead and use them without worrying: even if it was an oversight to allow them to work in T1, I hardly think anyone at Mackie will be too worried: they should still be locked to Tracktion, and they are only a fraction of the final T2 bundle.

Anyway, it might be intentional: Final Mix was added as a T1 update.. maybe they plan to give these to T1 owners anyway, or use them as bait to get people to try the demo..

I have a feeling they were made specially for Tracktion btw (just a guess) but they obviously re-use chunks of code that that have already appeared in Final Mix, so perhaps it was more of a re-packaging..?

I'd like to be able to use them for the sidechain feature alone, but the fact is, they're very nice little compressors (I've barely played with T2's other features, I'm caught up using these on my existing projects--I didn't have a compressor this nice before!). I'm hoping I'm in the clear using these, because it's going to be hard for me to go back to Classic Compressor (not a knock on that excellent plugin) after getting a taste of these.

Thanks for easing my conscience a bit. :)

Yes they are all locked to Tracktion. I just tried loading them in energyXT and got a dialog "This is not a VST plugin"

Just like Finalmix, but they're awfully nice gift to T1 users. I just paid 50 buck for one compressor/limiter with sidechaining capability to use in Vegas (DX), and it not even as nice as those ones. I just played some more with them, they can be really wicked if you go extreme with the settings, and some of the presets demonstrate that very well, but they can also bring subtle enhancements to a track.
Haven't quite figured out the de-esser thing yet though, I'm guessing it's to remove hissing noise but I didn't go beyond that. Anybody played with it yet?

Yes, i am very excited about them and was surprised nobody mentioned them so far, because to me they are much more than just a nice extension. They sound pretty cool and are very flexable. I would like to have a nice EQ in that quality with low CPU resources
(ok, I am getting greedy :-)

After using T2 for 2 days now, I am pretty happy with it and would like to get off that noise. B

exactly where are these plugs, I've checked the 3rd party folder but can't find them?

Somehow the T2 installation took all the preferences from the T1 installation so they were missing.

Assuing T1 is in C:\Program Files\Tracktion and T2 is in C:\Program Files\Tracktion2

in either T1 or T2 go to settings\plugins\add path...

and add C:\Program Files\Tracktion2\plugins\Mackie Plug-ins

better also if you set T1 to use the MDA plugins from T2 by adding C:\Program Files\Tracktion2\plugins\MDA Plug-ins path also

you can remove the 3'rd party path then since there is no such path in T2
