Though improved over T1, I still am finding it cumbersome. I wish the tool menu could be located under the clip so you could see the bar readout at the top of the screen, and I wish I could adjust the graph to 1/8 notes or something. It isn't so clear to my eyes in the current state.

On the whole it is definitely a big improvement. But it could be improved even more.

Have you tried to work with pitch bend?
I quess Jules never did!

Snap on/off for smoother lines doesn't work on my mac. Is that an official T2 bug?

i did it :D ...

another thing i'd like to see is editing midi velocity draggin' on actual notes/group of notes with a combination of key+mouse drag (v+mouse drag?)

when editing complex polyphonic textures or drum beats it's a pain in the ass to work with those little velocity lines...
is one of the worse side of cubase style velocity editing....

can T2 (or T2.x or T3) be a revolution in velocity editing?

why do that note-velocity line-note-velocity line
mouse-dance all the life long?..
a pianist's wirst can be damaged :D

Just in testing this new midi editor, I definately like it how that it keeps the note length you just used. Awesome. I am noticing though that sometimes when you mouse in a note, it stays pressed somehow and you have to click the note again to make it stop. That's easily fixed right?

with the line tool it does 'steps' as the snapping were enabled..not good for me..better change its name in 'stairs tool' or 'step-tool' :D :D

subject: got your PM, and I was trying it anyway.

it seems it broke at some point. More stranglely, even with snapping turned off, it still snaps the cc data to the grid.

I'll look up which build was working correctly, I have it logged soemwhere.

Is there a way to set the length of a bunch of selected notes so that each one ends where the next begins?

I like the step record. I'd love to be able to use the mod wheel or foot pedal to change note length while using step record. Also be nice to define a note that inputs blank.

Command-click (mac) should just drag a copy and not affect note length at all. If I want to change note length, I'll use no key modifier at all. As it is now, I have to zoom way in to make a copy and not change length. (frustrating and unnecessary)

When notes are selected, it would be useful to have a duplicate command in the property panel with options for number of duplicates and length between each.

Isn't the super-low resolution of MIDI information going to make things steppy by default?

I have to admit, I don't think much one way or the other about the MIDI. It was usable for my needs in T1, and continues to be usable. The one feature I HAVE found instantly to be an improvement is the velocity lane. Much easier to "humanize" drum parts and so forth with the velocity lane.

maybe already noticed, but in the setup page there is still an option for the midi toolbar to appear at the left of either the track or the clip ... maybe it just needs rewording if it now refers to the keyboard image
