I tried it on a friend's desktop PC with an Albatron mobo (standard realtec sound chip) and it worked just fine. It played flawlessly the demo songs at 768 samples latency.

Seems to work fine on my set up. nx 7000 w/builtin rubbish soundcard and remote 25 audio. getting about 15ms which is hardly noticable.
DId you ever have it working in anything, though?

Funny thing is I don't remember
Asio4all appears in the drop down box, and I can enable the output for both channels but they remain marked as "not connected" I guess I'll keep tweaking since other's have gotten this work.Maybe I'm missing something here...

if it says not connected, that usually means that asio4all isn't happy. Tracktion is not even involved at tat stage.
Check your asio4all config.

I had the same problem until:if it says not connected, that usually means that asio4all isn't happy. Tracktion is not even involved at tat stage.
If any of your program's Midi Out set to "Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth" Asio4All will not work.
Many times, if no Midi out driver installed, that is the only choice. What i did, I installed "Maple virtual midi cable" (free)to have more choices, and I select one of its midi out, to releve from the 'MS GS Wavetable Synth'.
Since then I have no problem with Asio4All.
I got 2.6 ms latency (48000) with my Toshiba(M35) laptop (Traction 1).
Hope this helps ....

I've had Asio4All work flawlessly in Reason (demo), Orion Platinum 5.8 and FL Studio 5 (demo). I'll give the midi thing a try, as this seems promising!
Like dabb said, it's times like these when you really appreciate the forums.

This thing is completely amazing. I've got 5 MS latency with reason slaved to tracktion. A4A only works because of what was mentioned above: do not use MS GS Wavetable Synth as your Midi Out in T2. Use anything else. I've got my Oxygen8, so that takes care of the midi. And it works wonderfully! Haven't gotten around to playing my guitar through it, I've run out of adapter plugs... but argh, wow, great stuff. I'm not sure whether this is really an alternative to buying a real FW audio interface (if you're sticking to 44khz anyway), but its definitely cool for recording ideas quick and dirty. Woohoo!

What's the spec of your machine? I'd love latency like that, but have 'issues' with crackling at that level.
Mind you, I was basically pissing in the wind when I set it up initially - it just worked, so I was happy enough.

It is an 'off the shelf' Toshiba M35 laptop, 1.4GHz, centrino, 512MB RAM, Windows XP. Nothing really special, I got it at BestBuy ~ a year ago. I just keep it very clean ...What's the spec of your machine? I'd love latency like that, but have 'issues' with crackling at that level.

in that case, I'd better look at tidying up mine a bit - it's a 1.5 pentium M, so I should definitely be able to achieve that!
Don't suppose anyone has any good sources of info for latency issues?
Cheers!
