No shame in disappointment

I see the rabid fanboys are ripping apart T2's critics like the religious fanatics they are. I can't help but think those critics have a point, though.
I'll be honest: The T2 demo is not impressive.
To be fair, maybe it's just that Tracktion was already so good. I'd still rather use T1 than any other recording software on the market right now, and that's saying a lot. Maybe there isn't much room for improvement. There are some nice additions, to be sure -- aux sends will probably come in handy at some point, the new color scheme is much easier on the eyes, and I'm sure I will get some good use out of the new loop recording feature. And of course, whatever stability and performance improvements may have been made are always welcome.
But the midi editing that was supposed to blow me away completely and utterly failed to do so. And with the bulk of my recording being done on my Powerbook, I don't expect to get any use at all out of the 64-bit mixing engine (a feature which I suspect took up the bulk of development time, and which I consider almost entirely unnecessary anyway). Overall, I can't help but think, "We waited how long for this?" And now the ship date has slipped from "early March" to "sometime in May." Over a month away.
In a way, I'm glad, because there are rumblings that Apple will be introducing a new pro audio app in mid-April at the National Association of Broadcasters convention. Speculation is that it will be a more professional version of GarageBand, and if so, my money may be better spent there. So this gives me time to wait out the rumors and compare.
Don't get me wrong. T2 is still the best there is, right now. And if the Apple rumors turn out to be false, I'll be purchasing T2 the day it's available.

I've tried and tried T2.
In my opinion, T2 is an excellent new release of T1.6. No more, no less. Using of CPU is better for me, I think.
The perfect soft is a dream. All the musicians are unique and want a soft with the features they hope.
It's an impossible gamble for a conceptor.
Look at the listing asked for T2 in the old posts : many, many differents and conflicting features.
And the price ? Ok, it's a big cost, but remember : how costed and cost Cubase, Cakewalk and others ?
Maybe, the waiting for T2 was too long...
I shall buy T2. Great soft.
Daniel.

Hey daniel-, and chance at a mini mixer that could fit in a rack filter? Just volume and pan would be swell, very small UI as well. Please?

Volume and pan only, ok. I can create it.
How many tracks ? Stereo or mono tracks ?
What is "UI" in english language ? Size ?

Maybe 6 or 8 tracks, UI means User Interface, but I really meant size. Fitting Tracktion's UI basically would be nice, minimalistic is best. Cross-platform PC/Mac if possible (though I understand if that can't happen).
I'm essentially thinking it would be a great way to not have to use a plug's own volume if you are using multiple VSTi in a rack, and of course for multi-out VSTi.
Thanks!

braj ... i have a simple (and UGLY AS f**k !!! ) 8 channel mixer with vol/pan and per-channel EQ built in a rack from Ts native filters ... its saved as a .trarch but you can obviously load it up and save it as a rack preset on your system ...braj wrote:Maybe 6 or 8 tracks, UI means User Interface, but I really meant size. Image didn't show up. But the problem there is that using T's filters everything is too big. Think FL5's fader sizes, that's what I'd like to see as a rack mixer. It's not for mixdowns so it doesn't need to be fancy, just small. Unobtrusive.
Still, can you fix the image? Thanks!

That would work. I'd still like to see a mini-mixer filter though, just to save on space in a rack.ModuLR wrote:all there needs to be is an option to hide the cables... then it's look pretty clean!
