Thanks everyone
I didn't intend to start a "moan" thread or even a feature request list - just to get up to speed with developments during my absence. So your replies have been very helpful...
...although it looks like I'm out of luck on all four counts, judging by your responses
Regarding points 1 and 2 - the bugs - they have been known about for so long that I'm sure jules has tried to fix them. Which raises the possibility that they can't be fixed, and are permanent fixtures.
Dsubject - thanks for the workaround for point 1. i know of workarounds for point 2 - the Rewire bug - as well. but with T2 I was hoping it would simply...erm... work.
The idea of paying for the T2 upgrade when long-standing known bugs have not been fixed is a little disconcerting.
Braj - you're bang on the button as usual
. It costs to include the Mp3 encoder (i.e. to convert INTO mp3 format) but not to import mp3. It would cost nothing to include mp3 import, and I wouldn't have thought it wold be difficult for Jules to add that.
OMF is a pretty universal professional standard (surely more so that broadcast wavs?) - although not always popular with users! In answer to the question above, it allows for the transfer of digital files and projects - yes, including MIDI - between applications. It's implemented in all the main sequencers, and provides really the only protocol allowing for collaberations between users of different sequencers, or between home, project and professional studios. As I explained above, it could also have made all the difference for students of mine who are using Cubase in their schools.
Anyway - THANKS again everyone!
