For me? Absolutely!! I'll be buying as soon as available.
I agree the difference is not that huge and that tracktion 2 could have been tracktion 1.7 (a long time ago ??? )
I'm not trying to pick on you, Ixox, but let's compare. You make a minor change to one of your plugins and go +0.1 on your version number.

Jules rewrites the midi editor, adds external sync capability, a color editor, additional input and metering options, Mackie hardware and midi controller support, enables you to turn off sections of the gui, makes the gui scalable, adds a 64 bit mixing engine, aux sends/returns, Quicktime support, loop recording, broadcast wav support, adds Amplitube Live, and RMIV...
and this should be the same kind of update as you changing the lfo frequency range on your chorus plug :?:

Sorry, but if this isn't worth a complete +1.0 on the version number, then I don't know what is :!:

I'm honnored by the comparaison... :D
But i don't know if you can compare a free plugin that took me maybe 20 houres (2 days of work) and Tracktion.

Anway some good points in what you say.

I just understand people who expected more.

I would like to be able to "reliably" select that first damn note in the midi clips... Arghhh! (but other than that) there are some good features that I really like, compared to the other stuff available... Those Mackie plugs are pretty slick, but I wish there was a drum editor... that would be huge!

First of all, even though Tracktion is only developed by Jules, whoever said that he's the only one SUPPORTING it is wrong. Marketing and beta testing are all being done within Mackie, as well as the beta testers.

Also, someone else mentioned the "long list of free plugins" included. Yeah, sure. What page have YOU been reading? RMIV, Slayer 2, Amplitube LE, Sampletank SE and loops, new Mackie plugs, BS-1, Final Mix........NONE of which are free plugins. Go ahead, add up the values of those plugs alone. WAY over the cost of T2 just by themselves.

Anyone who says that this is a 1.7 release is out of their mind. For $80, you got a couple years of features being added. Even if you just bought it, you got all that work and testing done for you for only $80. And still you want more? And if you haven't bought yet, then you get all those features, and a TON of new additions and plugs, for no more than $199(lower for street price). Show me JUST ONE other host that has the features of T2 and the quality of plug-ins for T2 for the same price. You're not likely to find it.

The difference is indeed HUGE, and it couldn't have been 1.7 a long time ago. Do you have any idea how long some of these features probably took to write? I doubt that Jules has just sat back and taken his time on it all. Some people just SEEM ungrateful to me........

It's not that what you are saying is wrong, it's just that I think that we could have had incrimental updates that would have covered most or all of this. Of course that would never happen because of the "macktion" thing..........which is the "real" problem.

And .........I have to always add this even though it's a bit off topic.........we still do not have a real release date, we still have no upgrade price/how to.

My luck... I already own most of those plugs

One thing - Mackie sales indicated to me that the upgrade price will only be know when T2 is officially for sale, so you can stop asking. Everything will be known at the same time.
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

WOW..
And someone called me a Tracktion fanboy not so long ago... :-o
Now i feel like an anti-Tracktion Troll seeing all these reactions.

Koolkeys, did you really read what i wrote ? I assume you're talking to me i'm the one who talked about "1.7 a long time ago".

Yes i have "an idea", i'm a software engineer...

"Ungrateful" ?

And i almost forgot : :P

We still luvs ya, Ixox.

But the amount of work that has gone into this release puts it far, far removed from an incremental upgrade.

eyeknow: at SOME point in time, a developer gets to make the decision to stop adding 'incremental' free updates, "save them up" and code them as a cohesive single release, and reserve the right to charge for it. Not all developers do, but that's the normal way of doing things, and I for one think that this upgrade is worth paying for.

yes. by eyeknow's rationale, there'd never be any point in releasing a large unit update. every new feature should come as a free incremental update! we should never have to wait! we should never have to pay! :riot emoticon:
