A fault seems to have developed between my system and Tracktion - several times recently, the program has frozen and, using task manager to end the program, results in a BSOD and or Shutdown.
I'm thinking that re-installing Tracktion might help.
Is there anything to be aware of in performing a re-instal?

No just delete the previous version and re-install.
Tracktion seems to be easier than any other app when starting over.
Although its so stable i've never had any trouble so i would suspect you have a dodgy vst or something.
regards

I'm a Mac guy but I strongly suspect you have a VST conflict somewhere.
Tracktion is the most solid app i've ever used and crashes are usually caused by a rouge vst...
stay with it you wont regret it...

BSODs and shutdowns are not caused by Tracktion, or any other app for that matter--they are caused by drivers.
Suggestions:
Suggestions:
- 1. Rip out your most recently installed driver and reinstall it, using device manager.
2. Visit the mfr's web site and make 100% sure that you have the latest drivers.

Thanks guys - I researched the stop message that I kept getting and found that one possibility was a memory issue. Memtest was OK so I have chenged the memory speed from 200 to 166 and have not had any trouble since. (win xp)
