Any one know how to automate on and off (mutes) for tracks, filters ?

just automate the wet/dry amount for the filters. this way you can also adjust the cross fade time.

how can that work with a highpass filter? or just turning the track on and off throughout mixdown?

at 100% dry you are bypassing the filter.

automate the mute control of the vol/pan filter. The main mute solos can't be automated unfortuately.

Select a Vol Pan filter, it'll be in the usual place (properties panel, top right). Toggling this while writing automation will actually write standard volume automation..
