Using PC/Mac together?

I know there are some plugins or applications that let you send audio over a LAN, does anyone have any information about this? How hard is it to configure, stability, practicality? I'd love to make the most of the hardware I have, and would rather 'work' on my Mac but would love to be able to use all the VSTs available on PC.

OK, I found Wormhole. There's one glowing review, but has anyone else used this, and how well does it work with Tracktion?

It's only $25, so it may actually be a worthwhile experiment. I'll see if there is a demo tomorrow.
