Yep, and Mackie integrated this feature, because it helps selling T2...

Which is fair enough, of course - they are a business, after all!!
OT: Having said that there is a balance whereby consumers evaluate the new features against the price increase and make up their minds about whether the new features are relevant to them overall.
In the case of T2 I think that the plug-in bundle (if you don't already have them, of course) is the main justification for many users for the price rise being so steep (250%).

199 is the "list price" actual suggested retail is $159. Mackie's list price for T1 was $149.

As a T1 user I look forward to a discount anyway if I decide to buy T2. But for students/schools I recommend Tracktion to, the price has gone up from c.£45 in the UK to £129. That's actually just under a 300% rise.

Actually I got it wrong - sorry - its priced at £149 not £129 (see latest issue of Future Music).
Having said that, I have done a search of every UK music store online, and none of them are yet listing that they will even stock the boxed Tracktion. So who knows?
Does anyone know if the boxed version will be taken up by stores in the UK?

PS: If you check out Mackie stuff in UK store/online, you will notice that often the $price is replaced by the same numeric £price, which in effect means that Mackie stuff costs UK customers more than US customers. This is not unusual (e.g. Cakewalk is much the same).chico.co.uk wrote:Has it? I wasn't aware uk pricing had been released yet, where did that come from?
Because of the good £/$ exchange rate, UK customers got T1 cheaper than others, but now we will be hit the other way, hence the price rise may cut deeper into our pockets here. Hope that clarifies my point.
