Using FL as a VST

I have FL running as a VST within T2. I select the channel I want from the Midi Input panel at the bottom of the edit screen of T2, and I get the correct sound corresponding to the channel in FL. Great..., but when I enter a sequence of notes via the new step sequencer, the sound defaults to Channel 1. This does not happen if I record notes manually rather than by step sequencing. Any ideas?
