I made a test with one note playing over 4 bars and set T2 to loop.
PIII 800, rme hammerfall 96/36, win xp pro SP2.
Tested NI plugs:
Absynth3, FM7, Battery2, Reaktor all worked perfectly, 3ms latency :)
With Kontakt theres a note drop issue.

Post

were these all plugs that dropped originally? Also has the kontakt issue changed at all with the drop_fix plug?

I missed the drop_fix plug when I did the above test. I downloaded it just now, installed it and indeed it fixed the issue. :)

This place drives me :nutter: cos if I had posted how much "I hated the first note drop bug," everyone and their mother would have thrown in their $.02 by now and we'd be sitting on page 9. :bang: :troll: :hihi:

So either people only like discussing bad things, or people are getting lots of friday sex. it's gotta be one or the other... :help:
LOL!
I think what you are truly discovering here ModuLR is a component of human nature. Namely, the need to bitch and whine.
Here you are asking for some cooperation in helping getting this thing worked out and all you hear is crickets chirping.

what was it modulr (allthough it never was a problem for me) that fixes the issue ? how i like these smal and usefull modulr tools. :band:

it's so stupid you won't believe it... but I'll keep ya in suspense until more people start posting that it's working on various plugs. :hihi:

this i can confirm and even dropfix can't help here, because tracktion sends "all notes off" and "sustenuto" when you press record so when you do this at the begin of your recordloop, it won't play the notes on there. but i think sending all notes off at the beginning of recording is usefull and at loop back it plays them fine. so just set the loop start earlier or wait for the second passing or imaging that they were played ;)

well since NO ONE else had anything to say (which is f'n pathetic considering the volume of complaining goin' on over this)... I can tell you aldi that the "all note off" and "sustenuto" are sent at the start of the clip (which you probably already know) during regular playback.. and this is what screws up the first note with VSTi's like kontakt and iblit, etc. So what you observed is related to the problem... :)

Drop_fix is just a cc filter. It filters out the "all notes offf" and "senstenuto" at the stat of playback and sends it when you stop the transport.

I've sent the info to jules.. it seems like this is something fixable.

In any case.. if any of ya'll that EVER complained but downloaded this and kept quiet, then let me just say YOU SUCK! :P :bang:

ha, found it, i know what you plug is doing, and it's really stupid, but now i must say, it isn't tracktions fault. it's logical thinking, that midinotes must be cutted when a loop ends or i want to play from another point in the song, so what tracktion does IS RIGHT !! it's the fault of the plugs or external devices that they can't handle that. oh yea !! funny thing. they have blamed the wrong one. should be easy for jules to handle it in another way, but i think it would be better, when vsti s can handle that.

I totally agree... and to quote valley earlier in the thread...
It seems there are some slightly silly plugin writers out there. Shit!
blame f'n the PLUGIN CODERS! not Tracktion. In this repect tracktion is too perfect.

that's how it came to my attention as well... I was like, what the hell is this? Looked up the #'s and was like "ohhh". Still dunno why it's mishandled by so many VSTs. Does it get the delta times wrong or what? The allnotesoff has usually got a delta of 0, while the notes come afterwards.. but for whatever reason it cuts the starting note anyway. Weirdo plugins...

jules can fix it the way i remeber some other host (cubase when i remeber right) do. they sending notes off for every note (or every note currently played) and that seems to be handled by the plugins in a better way. (more often, but no garantee, the way your plug does will produce hanging midinotes on some plugs i guess, but, hey! drop_fix can also send notesoff for every note)

Tracktion has behaved better after I got the Asio4All drivers to work, but the dropped note bug happens every time I switch back to DirectSound. Perhaps it's latency related or something? Also, it usually only happens in loop mode. Also, racks fall out of synch quite badly when using DirectSound, which is most definately a latency issue.

I'll give your fix a try!
