automation that's just for the clip where it's on. so we can produce funky filter sweep clips or stuff like that. or alternatively moving automation with the clip. was discussed often, so i think everyone know what it means.

I think you can safely say this one is already a known feature request. Put it in the box with improved freeze as one of those things that doesn't really need re-raising...

however, it's also something that would benefit from discussion.
how would it work?
for example, the automation lines currently 'connect' directly to a specific filter parameter. what would happen to the automation if the clip was moved onto a different track? would it still affect the original plugin? or would its effect be automatically ignored if it's not on it's 'home' track?
also, which automation data would be moved; say you had a 10 lines of automation on one track.. yet only 3 of them were relevant to that clip (and one was for track vol, one for pan, etc.. and you still wanted them to apply to the track even tho the clip had moved). how would you select which ones are relevant? maybe if you right-click a clip (or look in the properties) there's a submenu showing automation parameters active over that clip, and you can highlight the ones you want to stay.
perhaps the simplest way of implementing it would be to have another option in the automation line's properties panel - saying 'lock to clips'; if enabled, any data that happens 'during' a moved clip will move with it. OR perhaps for a more efficient way of working, there could be an option in the already present AUTOMATION button that says 'move automation with clips' that applies to all lines. this could be mapped to a shortcut key too, although it's something that would benefit from an on-screen indicator.
still i wonder how it would handle automation when moving clips to a different track.

I think actual automation clips combined with clip grouping would be a good way of doing this. You would create an automation clip in a similar way to an audio or midi clip, which would be applied to a specific vst. This could then be dragged left and right, cut and pasted etc. The grouping could then be used to tie it to a specific audio or midi clip so that the automation can be moved with the clip and also any filters applied directly to the clip. You would then have discreet sound chunks which you could do what you liked with.

hey, that's a good idea.. it'd be handy to be able to ctrl-drag a 'clip' of automation data to apply elsewhere on the track. that is still possible tho atm, by just copying and pasting the data, and tbh it wouldn't really be much easier in that regard for copying automation with a clip.. but it would be more in keeping with feel of tracktion.
still lots to think about here.

how about (and this probably hasnt been thought through properly TBH) ...
... keep 'track' automation as it stands and add a new 'automation filter' that could be dragged onto clips (snapping to the clips length) and assigned to a parameter from any filters that clips data passes through (you could draw in the envelope either on the timeline or even in the properties panel) ... copying or moving the clip to another track would keep the automation data but clear the target parameter which you could then reassign to another filter on the destination track ... it being a filter you could easily copy and paste automation between clips to set up parallel automations etc ...
... or even ...
... go down the ableton route and give each clip a number of integral automation envelopes that could (unlike lives hardwired ones) be assigned to filter parameters as necessary (could also even have hardwired ones like vol / pan / etc) ... copying clips copies the automation too as a matter of course ...
