How to export edit as separate tracks in T1

A friend of mine just told me about this, can anyone confirm? It makes sense but I don't have T1 so I can't tell.

1. Create an edit in T2 demo with 8 tracks audio/midi.
2. Select 'export' check button 'export to separate tracks' .
3. Close the dialog.
4. Open the edit in T1.
5. Export to audio and notice you have 8 exported, separate tracks.

Doers it work for you?

of course it works ... T1 reads the same .xml file format as T2 so if the rendered tracks are there for T2 then theyll be seen by T1 too ...

or am i misunderstanding ???

Yeah, but the reason I even know about it is because my friend called me thinking his T1 was broken. I figured some preference from the demo must have messed with his edit, and found that you could use a feature of T2 that wasn't present in T1, though you need the T2 demo to change it back to render to just 1 file again.

must be another one of those little futureproofing things that jules put in (like the loop recorded audio takes from a T2 project still appearing in T1) ... just noticed that T1 also picks up clip colours from new T2 colour schemes ...

hmm, nice. does that work if you install in the same dir or by default?

Just another reason why I respect Jules so much. The guy is a genius. I wish Steinberg would have "future proofed" Cubase when SX first came out :x . T is the first sequencer that I've seen future proofed well.

Only thing is it's *sort of* a bug. My friend got confused and didn't know why it was exporting to multiple files, and he only played with T2 the first day it came out. He had no clue what was going on. Of course I appreciate it but I can definitely see where it could cause some issues in the occasional circumstance.
