Hi!

I'd like to have this as an option.
Select a note or a group of notes then drag on it plus keeping depressed the 'v' (or other custom one) key to edit the velocity..
no more mouse dancing between notes and velocity lane..
plus a lot easier to edit overlapped notes or complex rytmic/polyphonic textures.

yes i was thinking the same sort of thing

a new velocity pen tool or highlight the midi notes & you can use the roller, or what the poster of this post said

P.S i feel sorry for the mod for the FR: sticky!
he must have to do more work than the mods at the moment

:hihi: perhaps..
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

more opinions? ;)

i would rather have hot-key increment / decrement options..

As long as we are talking about velocity - I'd like to see a way to 'compress/expand' velocity on a group of notes.

Take the idea of this FR a little farther - select a group of notes via mouse lasso function, or an entire clip/track if you like.

Apply the following:

Threshold velocity to apply change: eg 60
Notes above threshold to receive a multiplication of their existing velocities by: eg 1.2 (for a 20% increase in velocity) or eg .8 (for a 20% reduction in velocity)

Kind of like a simple 'dynamics' processor for midi velocities.

Taking that further, some other possibly handy velocity manipulations:

Add/subtract a constant value to all velocities (I think this is already implemented in automation - I seem to remember doing this once) - use platinumears' idea of doing this via +/- key

Allow these to be done 'on the fly' while looping a section to hear their effect on the sound would be a very cool improvement.

what I would like is instead the velocity handling being at the start of each note, that it could optionally be length of a grid area like the notes, making it easier to perform fades. If you need high resolution/detail on the editing of the velocity then like the note editing, zoom in and use the grid snapping to change the length as well as the velocity.
