hi there, with the help of modulrs senderella sources i've created a little tool that gives you a fast solo function. it works best in t2 because t1 reacts on pressing 0-9 keys with markers regardless if shift, alt or whatever is pressed at the same time and i haven't been able to find some logical keys that are free in t1.

version 0.9

NEW VERSION FIXES SERVICEPACKLESS XP PROBLEM
version 0.91
http://www.elektroprobe.de/solorollo/solorollo091.zip

how to use it:

place the first instance in the masterchannel insert of tracktion and set it's program preset to 10-Receiver.

place some other instances of SoLoRoLLo to whatever track you'd like to hear solo. mostly these should be a grouptrack or a track, where auxs returns.

chose by the program presets on which solochannel it should send. you should use different channels for every instance allthoug there are summed when they are the same, but that would be not a real solofunction then ;)

now when you push SHIFT + CTRL + (the number for the channel you like to hear, for example 2) you will hear only the track where the solorollo instance set to channel 2 is placed (solo as we know it).

you clear the solofunction by pressing SHIFT+CTRL+0.

for some reason it doesn't work here... it's not hooking my keys I don't think. BTW, I love the idea of using programs that way! :D

hmm, maby it's my mingw32. i've send you the code, replace the exportfunctions with the ones of yours. ? it's xp you're on ? there are some //sprintf statements in the code, also in the part of the hook to log what happens. i can send you also a version where they are in so you could send me the log.txt that's then generated.

OK My thought for 2005

How hard would it be to make a volume filter with mute & solo (of tracks using that new volume filter) witch is vst host controllable??

in tracktion 1 this seems to be jumping to markers. still works though :)

i know, it was a littlebit hard to find usefull keycombinations that aren't used by tracktion itself ;) but in t2 it should be ok.

only becouse you cant map tracktion,s midi controler's or vst autamation to mute or solo, also tracktion's solo on a bus will kill all inputs to that bus

ah, ok, shouldn't be a big deal.

Thanks, it's a great tool. But as -- I think -- others have found, in T1 it not only does what it's supposed to do, it also jumps the curser back to the locate point (or beginning of a loop). If that can be sorted out it will be an extremely useful device.
