okay, this weird little program isn't finished, and doesn't do everything it's supposed to yet, but darn it it works and it's bed time so i thought i'd post it.
http://haydxn.net/content/t2/SchemeGenerator.zip
two pages: one picks 6 colours, and the other one sets out how the colours are distributed and tweaked for each property.
at the moment hue and saturation don't actually do anything...
but you can get a feel for what this program will do. the included scheme file is embedded with extra template info for this app to read. load it up in T2 and have a look at it. load it in the schemegenerator and change the first colour. save it again and see how the new one looks in T.
have a look at the template page of the program to see how it works. it's quite straightforward- and designing templates is a little tedious but then so is T2's colour scheme design method... this way when you have a template, you'll be able to change the overall hue and colour balance whilst maintaining shading etc.. in a few easy clicks.
bed time. sleep. gnite!

i've still plenty of work to do on this little app yet, but it's already proving how useful it can be. the interface has a lot of work to be done on it, but that's not going to be very hard at all. it'll be easier to see how you're modifying the colours in the template (at the moment you just have to trust it!
)..
also, i'm going to have little blocks of colour on the list, just like T2 has, to make it even easier. everything else will be tidied up, and i'll put in options to change how files are imported/exported.
(oh, and i'll get saturation and hue working, and also put in an alpha control into the template designer)
also, if i get time i'll put in a 'preview' button to pop-up a mock-up of the Tracktion interface with the current colours. that's not going to be too tricky either i reckon.
try it out and let me know if you think of anything that would make it great (and remember that it's not even alpha version
this is pretty much two nights work and two days of JUCE experience so some of the bits i did first are kinda 'practise'y..
)
just so you know, the 'template' information (colour ID, and the specific tweaks for each property) is embedded into the scheme file when you save it. this means that if you design a scheme with this, and share it around on the net with other users, they can load it into this scheme editor program and have the template all set up with the colours you chose in your palette; all they have to do is change the 6 palette colours and they instantly have a new version of your scheme to their tastes - the same shading, balance etc..
when i get some more work done on it i'll provide some FULL templates.. the one in this version has a few properties untweaked because it was late when i made it.
