Often overlooked is the fact that Tracktion doesn't restrict you to one platform - projects started on Mac can be finished on PC, and vice-versa. I run both PCs and Macs, and these days I won't buy any audio software that isn't dual platform.headquest wrote:In terms of recommending Tracktion 1 to students (including some who are younger than teenagers) the $80 price tag was a major advantage. $200 is probably unrealistic for most of my school age pupils. The flexibility of FL5 pricing structure makes it a tempting recommendation which I am now seriously considering as an alternative. (I downloaded the demo, not being an FL user, and so far I'm very impressed indeed...)
If any of your students own a Mac instead of PC, then FL doesn't seem such a good choice... (this is not a pro PC or pro Mac statement, as I said, I use both)
cheers
