Aftertouch, channel pressure, whatever you call it. We need it, and I'd have thought it would be a pretty simple addition :)

Proper polyphonic afertouch would be be good too. (I'd imagine there's not too many people with controllers to support this, but it'd be nice to still edit the data by hand)

I agree it should be there.. even if I can't use it at the moment.

<edit> I think Jules would be safe to stick to simple channel aftertouch for the time being! :)

jepp, it's really important for some musicians. it's a must have for every sequenzer!!

Ahem... you know my feelings about this by now... :P

Should perhaps update the page, since it seems it did NOT become obsolete with the arrival of T2...

Aftertouch would be on my list too...

does your plug work on Mac?

All this time I thought something was wrong my synth... I mean, come on, how hard is to just pass and record all the midi data? Surely this fix is less than 5 lines of code....

i know what aftertouch is and does, but i don't know what tracktion's problem is with it. would someone mind explaining exactly what is wrong and what is needed so i can put a paragraph in the FR list?
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

Some support for it would be nice.. :) Tracktion currently just pretends its not happening. :hihi:

does it not let thru the midi data? do all soft-synths ignore it? therefore not respond to it even live? or is it just that it doesn't record aftertouch data?

as far as I can tell, T ignores it for some reason.

But, my keyboard that I use as a controller (Ensoniq VFX SD vintage 1989) actually has key, not channel aftertouch, so I might not be the best judge. At least it doesn't show up in the controller list as having data present.

Key aftertouch absolutely rocks. If you've never had it, you don't know what you are missing, but it's very powerful for modulating held chords to emphasize notes, etc.

amazing how aftertouch is now a big feature on more expensive keyboards when just about everything except the absolute cheapest synths had it back in the 80s...

still regret ever selling my dx11... cracking keyboard on that.

I'll be honest, I haven't shopped for a keyboard in so long, I guess I haven't looked at MIDI specs. I assumed that like most things, features would be found in top and lower priced products. Wrong assumption if I understand you correctly.

I do have my eye on a Clavia Electro 73 however. I guess I'll have to check that out.
