Hi!
Always in the way to make the life simple for those traktioneers who do a lot of editing while composing.
A simple split tool like " left click + "/" ".
If you have to do a lot of splitting now you have to move the cursor (wich is often very difficult if you have a lot of tracks on the screen) and then hit "/"
it would be more practical just to click where you want to split using a combination of mouse click and a key...obviusly customizable
opinions?
thanx

but you have to move the cursor then split = 2 actionsLunch Money wrote:A key to split the selected clip(s) at wherever the cursor is currently hovering would simply be awesome. Even easier than shifting and clicking.
You're hovering over the right spot, you press "" and BAM, split. Easiest thing ever.
i mean just go with the mouse over the place you want to split and click + "/" = 1 action.
if you ave to split a clip in 16 parts (given that each action require 1 second) you'll have 32 seconds for 2 actions for 16 splitting edits....vs. 16 seconds.
what's better?
just my opinion obviuosly

i agree with you...a super whole lotLunch Money wrote:I meant the mouse cursor, not the Tracktion cursor. I'm agreeing with you in nature, saying it can be improved. I think my way's even better and I bet you'll agree now that you know I'm talking about the mouse cursor and not the Tracktion cursor.
sorry to have misunderstood ya...
since some days here at Tracktion forum after a FR i always expect a FYFRGUOSOTTAIS (f**k Yer Feature Request Go Use Other Software Or Take Traktion As It Is)

incidentally, just throwing this in here because it's something i do a whole lot when editing...
i generally keep snap on, and have the cursor snap too. when it comes to making precise cuts in audio tho, rather than turn snap off, if you DOUBLE-CLICK-HOLD on the wave clip (so you hold on the second click) then you go into 'scrub' mode for that clip. the '/' key will work when you're like this so you can scrub and slice easily. i find this very useful because not only to i not have to disable snap, but i can 'hear' where i'm cutting too.
this isn't my 'DO THIS INSTEAD!' because it's not what's being asked for
just a little tip. we could do with more splitting options. such as 'ctrl-'/'' to make repeated splits along the length of the same distance as from the clips start to where you're splitting.. [so you do it a quarter of the way along and it splits into four equal parts]

Thanks Haynxn - and you can even zoom in while scrubbing which is just plain neat.
