That IS weird!

My girlfriend's field of research is NAIP, or Neural Apoptosis Inhibitor Protein (I think that's what it stands for). Basically, her research involves trying to find ways to identify, regulate, and prevent conditions caused by unexpected and 'unnatural' (I can't think of a better word right now) cell death.

It's fascinating when you start to figure out what she's talking about. I can understand just barely enough to sort of keep up. It's like when you're learning a second language and you're at the point where you're beginning to have conversations in that language-- you know enough to sort of get by and fake your way through it, but you don't really grasp 100% of what's going on. The more she tells me, of course, the more I understand. That's a cool thing.

... im an art teacher with a history background too (and a deep interest in archaeology) ...

... my fiance is a history teacher (with an archaeology background) ...

... ive taught her a bit about art but beyond that we often end up in historical or archaeological interpretation headbanging ...

... but like you ... i LOVE a good debate (even if im not ENTIRELY believing in the point im arguing)

my ex is currently working on a phd in neuro-immunology.. she used to try to explain it, but my brain would just wander off somewhere else after about half a sentence

maybe thats where it all went wrong..

It IS cool learning stuff from her, though, even if it's not something I'm likely to ever 'need' to know. You never know who you'll end up having a casual conversation with, and it could prove handy for passing the time pleasantly with a scientist-type. <chuckle>

i find sleeping with there mates workes realy well aswell!
