Have a look at Bome's Midi Translater. You can map any sequence of key commands to a midi command.

[edit]Should have tried before answering, it works perfectly. I'm keeping this, and I guess Mr Bomers will get another postcard from Montreal.

But I think this is what Bome's translator is doing, right ?

It detects an incoming mide note for example and sends the defined key sequence to the active application.

I tried this with my faderfox it works great.

thanx for the info every one!

but Bome's translator only seems to translate midi data to midi data

also on my key mapping the "/" key has been chainged so its now the abort & restart command insted of the slice command, the reason i have done this is becouse i wanted record & the abort buttons to be next to each other,

so / abort & restart, * record, - abort.

the reason i'm wanting this is so i can abort from my bcr2000!

with the help of Haydxn i have made most if the mappings for me to use my bcr2000 as a MCU,

but we cant find the midi command for abort!

but i can use all the volumes, pans, mutes, solos, play, record, back to start, arm for recording, plus meny meny more!

just cant get the abort command :x

if any body comes across the midi data that it sends to do this it would be even better!

also if any body has a bcr2000 i can shere my preset that i have made!

Noooo, I just tried it, it work perfectly and flawlessly for mapping midi to QWERTY.

Just start Bome's midi translator.
click on "add" and name the preset.
Click on "edit".
check the box marked "capture midi" and press the midi button you want to remap.
Click on the "keystroke" tab just below.
Enter the keystroke you want to use and check "output incoming message".
Minimize to tray.
Send a postcard to Mr Bomes.

How does the BCR work as an MCU ? Are the channels dynamically assigned ? Please explain.

Post

djsubject ... check the version of bomes you are trying ... 1.2 (the 1st one i found) doesnt translate MIDI to keystrokes but 1.31 (the latest) DOES ...

... cool toy but at the minute i cant it to allow me to use my x-session both as a bomes-mapped controller AND as normal in T2 ... more playing required ...

ok, 8 volumes, mutes, solos, arms, & pans, then another button will make thease 8 channels jump up & down 8, then another button will make it jump up & down 1,

EDIT; this is not full emulation of the mackie u controll!! but its better than nothing!

@phz yes it was 1.2 thanks ;)

to all others Thanks

you do know if you tell T2 to use a port for the MCU that port will no longer let you map cc,s in the midi mapper from that port!

there is a work around if this is the problem your having have a play with midi ox & midi yoke ;)

if i'm barking up the roung tree tell me to piss off :)
