no dude! costs bout 150. I dont have it. But this studio i work for at times does. I really like. I was saving for it, and then i tried hydrotone today.... now hydro is not as versatile as equim.. but listen to it on those guitars man... listen to it on those guitars....*

equium imo is a quite average eq with a very nice interface. soundwise not special. Hydratone on the other hand is special - not a great all-round go-to eq but it does its own special thing...

Which in your opinion, would make for a nice versatile EQ ? Hydro im deffinately getting... even if it's just for heavy guitars...

A good EQ is one thing that i lack.

I took a listen, thanks :) . Doesn't sound to me anything like heavy metal though... I was ready for some riffs  . Not exactly my cup of chai, but sounds pretty good for what it is. Reminds me of Pearl Jam and all the bands that followed in their footsteps. Is there a big scene in Delhi for rock music? How about electronic/dance?

is not metal dude!!! i said ill post some riffs once i have a scratch mix ready... the scene here, big by indian standards... but i wont even start comparing. growing well! whats the scene in Israel like ?

Dance/electronic is kinda better... but then thats not my cup of chai! i have a feeling u familier with manali ?

For me the Sonalksis SV eq is a great flexible low load eq - a lot like analog gear - it has a little of a "character" bt its basically transparent. Some neat things: you can drive it hard and it will clip in a kind of solid-state analog sounding way - and it also has a mode where the curves are very broad - expensive (although they offer a 30 day dully functional demo. I am a mac person so can't use Voxengo stuff but have been very impressed when I have gotten a chance to goof around with them and the prices are better.

The equium eq is basically yr stock digital iir filter - thats not bad in itself, but you can get it from a zillion places - its probably not dissimilar (soundwise! the interface is something else!) from Ts built in eq. Hydratone uses convolution. Firium is a phase-linear (fir) filter. Sonalksis is based on circuit-modeling as (i think) is PSP big eq (which is very interesting but a cpu-hog). Its not a bad idea to have one of each as they have very different applications - the fir filter is particularly wierdly transparent - it can make fairly drastic changes without making a "sound". I haven't found a use for it yet - I'm so used to using eq to add or remove "character" - but its neat. There is a free or donation-ware one over at smartelectronix.com if yr interested.

ahh, cool. Let me know when. Yes I am familiar with Manali and everyone who has been to India knows about the Israeli 'presence' there and elsewhere. But actually, I am not an Israeli, I am an Australian living in Israel because my wife is Israeli. So, can't tell you much about the metal scene, but there is some great underground rock/pop around, which is more my cup of chai. Actually, I am very very interested to know about the 'modern' music scene in Delhi, and India generally, if you ever want to talk by PM.

I love the commercialized iced chai latte crap that Starbucks sells. Authentic? Maybe not. But yummy? Indeed! Too bad it's not fair trade. :(

Nice to see you Lunch. I had more to say in the 'Final Mix' thread over there at Hyde Park, but there was ten pages of crap after p.24. I got discouraged, I was only really interested in talking to you or Wopelka. .

Starbucks? I'm not sure if you can call that chai.

Nub Chai brewery in Santa Cruz that used to donate free chai to events my friends put on, raves etc. That was great chai.
