and since the demo really does not let you do much.. it's got noise, cant render.

this kind of comment has been really pissing me off lately. you can't render, and it has noise.

they are the ONLY two limitations the demo has. what else can you do?

- you can record audio
- you can use the MIDI editor
- you can import audio/midi
- you can use VST plugins
- you can import old Tracktion projects
- you can SAVE your work as you are working on it
- you can even LOAD your work in Tracktion1 and use THAT to render if you need to

there is SO much you can do. if you can not handle the noise, fair enough, you have low tolerance or are perhaps impatient. if you NEED to render then i can understand that - i've maxed out my cpu in the demo and i know how useful rendering can be as a substage before a different type of editing process...

but to say that you can't do much in the demo is both lazy and ludicrous. you can do WAY more in this demo than you can with most demos. the fact that you can save is a ridiculously generous feature. that is just such an useless thing to say.

I wouldn't trade the ability to save for removing the noise. I think the demo is useful for getting a grip on T2. Which is the point.

and do what ??? a month is a long time... spending (a meagre)USD150 is often impulsive... But im just playing the Devil's advocate.

Demos are not supposed to be fully working. And i am OK with that. No problems.

My point was that one would like to able put his work to good use immediately. For us people using T1 that is not a problem. We record in T2 use it's features and render in T1.

Sidhu and Headquest are right: Mackie screwed up - the demo and ads were early.

and haydxn: noise is a hell of a limitation: I can't use T2 for making music at all.

Which is not to say that its the end of the world - just a misstep and a waste of some thousands of dollars. T can still succeed and we will all have a working T2 soon.

No self respecting pro would even start work with a product not yet available. Nevermind.. dint mean to upset anyone...

Well I think that the point is that the Mackie marketing dept got out of sync with the development of the final release and put the adds out too soon.

demos need limitations. if you can't handle the noise then that's your problem. it's got to be crippled somehow. it's a demo. it's not the full product. you seriously can't make music with the noise there? you seriously can't do anything at all with that bit of noise popping up? seriously? you're not joking? it's that big a deal that you can't even use the program and get a feel for it? really? you're kidding, right? really? actually? seriously?!

chill out dude!! the only thing were saying is that it makes logical sence to have a full product available for purchase as soon as the demo is out. At least dont give give a months break!

YES!!!! With all this talk about how bad Mackie's marketing has been lately, I thought T would surely flop and go bankrupt. But now that you say it can still succeed, I feel much better. I dont have to worry anymore.

Not exactly. It may be known to those musicians who look at this section of the KVR forum, because it was actually mentioned ONCE by Beno in a post he made in early Summer 2004.

But it's just possible that there are a few musicians out there who will see the adds and not know about the discount

We are being idealistic here... the markets dont work that way. You see a product, you want that. Not an older version that lets you update in the future.
