agreed. now lets move forward. t2 will be nice for us all. and its really not that far away. its past "mid april" now. :)

Only 14 to 45 more sleeps left!
My new pieces in WOOOOOSHTHAAAWAP T2 have taken on a new WOOOOOSHTHAAAWAP feel, that while WOOOOOSHTHAAAWAP sometimes annoying or WOOOOOSHTHAAAWAP unexpected, they look so much WOOOOOSHTHAAAWAP better in the new WOOOOOSHTHAAAWAP colour scheme. I'm not WOOOOOSHTHAAAWAP saying a time-limited WOOOOOSHTHAAAWAP demo would have been WOOOOOSHTHAAAWAP a better limitation. In fact as as WOOOOOSHTHAAAWAP soon as T2 is released, my next WOOOOOSHTHAAAWAP vsti purchase is going to be WOOOOOSHTHAAAWAP some sort of WOOOOOSHTHAAAWAP noise-shaping instrument.
Have a great WOOOOOSHTHAAAWAP week everyone. Is Beno back from WOOOOOSHTHAAAWAP holidays this WOOOOOSHTHAAAWAP week?

does that include me?

As someone who has a hardware controller (which is something not supported by T1, I certainly find myself in agreement with those people who think that it is odd - to say the least - that there was no finished version of T2 available at the same time as the demo. T1 is of no real use to me, T2 I would buy immediately - but I can't!

Anyone in my position is being forced to wait for quite a long time before we can actually use this software. Never mind who, or what department, is responsible for this rather silly situation, Mackie are not doing themselves any favours with me.

computer games have demo versions out long before the game is released.

movies have advertisements out long before there is even a release date, sometimes approaching tens of months in advance of release.

we see reviews in magazines of software that we want to use long before we are priveliged enough to obtain it for ourselves.

mackie have not slipped up. this is not a silly situation. it is perfectly normal for a product to be advertised or even demoable before it is available to buy. all i can see is a bunch of spoilt complainers with nothing better to do then mouth off about pointless niggles as if they've been mistreated.

A demo is a demo so its got to have some limitations and why not give themselves a bit of time before they release the full version. At least they can iron out the probs before we winge about them in the full version :)

haydxn: why descend to name calling?

Post

sorry, i personally wouldn't have classed the term "spoilt complainers" as namecalling. clearly if you think otherwise then that must be considered, but frankly there's there's no other way to describe it.

would any of us have to wait any lesser amount of time had the demo NOT come out?

the fact that people are bringing out such points as:

'now they've released the demo and had the adverts out, i have to wait over a month to be able to do anything with the product'

just shows a fundamental severance in the brain - the small section that allows a thought to zip around the synapses before making some kind of comment. the kind of area that ritalin is supposed to stimulate in young children.

the fact that the demo has come out now has nothing to do with any kind of waiting time. it's good of mackie to provide us with this while we're waiting, and we'd be waiting regardless. mackie have allowed us to try out the product we've been begging for, and yet still people feel they have something to complain about. fair enough if there are bugs or missing features, we're trying to do what we can to improve that side of things too.

but to have people bash mackie's moves and decisions at EVERY turn is ungrateful, ignorant and downright rude, and i haven't the slightest pang of guilt for making my opinion on the matter known.

I love the demo noise. I found it beautiful and soothing. It inspires me.
I will never register my version of T2, so the pretty noise will not go away.

Maybe T2 will bundle with it a plug that randomly inserts that noise, maybe even at different pitches! Or maybe a whole sample library of demo noises and their variations! Then you can support Jules by purchasing and still have your noise!

sweet. and maybe we can finally get that "pro tools as a plugin" feature we've all been hoping for.

just adding; i did several amazing mixes this weekend on T1. 8 in all. im really starting to like this software. T1 has been a blessing for the mixdown portion of my business. i get things done so much faster. i can actually work with more people this way. i like it. i can get a commercial ready for air, and mixdown a rehearsal recording and maybe a live venue tweak in the same day! it's great.

i just need for it to be smoother for live recording and ill be totally happy. but i can work with it as is. and im not complaining. i got it free with a mixer... who am i gonna complain to? hahaha!! :tantrum:  :o
