I got the NFR version of T1 some time in 12/2004. Since then I have installed and uninstalled the program on my Win98 computer with no problems. Basically I have not been able to make up my mind if I actually want to use T1 so I have installed and uninstalled with no problems at least 6 times. The program has always worked very stable with no problems. However the last time I tried to install it I had a problem. It installed like normal and seem as though everything is fine. However now when I try to start T1 it goes to the initialising screen and just stays there. It freezes my computer and just want start. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong. PS I have not did anything to my computer since the last time I installed and uninstalled which was basically a day before I started having the problems. Thanks for any help as I have finally made up my mind that I want to use T1 as I am tired of Acid. Thanks.

did you try un-installing & reinstalling again?
if it wont let you uninstall, then install it on top of its self
good luck

Any new plug-ins? Plug-in conflicts can stop tracktion during plug-in scan.jmbriley wrote:I got the NFR version of T1 some time in 12/2004. I uninstalled it and installed it in a different directory and that did not work. Also some mentioned a problem with the VST's, well it does not even get to that part in startup. It freezes up at the intialising part which is the very first thing. More info. is I tried to install another copy of T1 and that did not work. Basically one day T1 works on my computer and then the very next day it does not. It gets stuck on start up. The only thing I can come up with is, is there a certain number of times you can install and uninstall a program on your computer. PS, the demo for T2 does the same thing.

tip: temporarily rename the directory. eg: change "plugins" to "_plugins"haydxn wrote: have you tried taking the plugin directory out?

I don't have the NFR, but I cannot believe that there's a limit to the number of installs. It sounds like a hardware conflict, if T1 doesn't even get to the VST-checking part... Are there any changes in your hardware setup? memory, soundcard, new drivers, ... You might even try to backout to the last good install.jmbriley wrote:The only thing I can come up with is, is there a certain number of times you can install and uninstall a program on your computer. It could also be useful to ask for help at the Mackie.com Tracktion forum, since that's the actual support forum (AFAIK)

I took out the plug in folder and tried temporarily renaming the plug in folder and T1 still just goes to the start up screen and stops at "intialising". Thanks for you help.

Are you running out of disk space on either your C drive, or the drive which has you swap file? If so, clear up some space.
Go into start/run, type msconfig, go to the startup screen, and untick basically everything, then reboot the machine. Does Tracktion start?
If so, figure out what memory resident program you've installed recently (knowingly or not) and remove it.

And how about msconfig? I'm theorising something running in memory is trying to scan tracktion or some file it accesses as it starts up, and this may be causing you issues.
