I got into this debate with several electronic musicians in San Diego a while ago. Half of them said Fruity was for amateurs, the others said you can go pro with it. Apparently the debate will go on indefinitely. Use whatever works best for you. It's really about the skills you possess, and not the gear. I've seen people with racks upon racks of equipment that eat a bag. I've also seen people with just an old mpc on stage that blew my mind.
hopefully with all this debate, the cat who asked the original question won't end up quitting music altogether, and go to back school to be an accountant.
