Controllers for T2?

Since T2 apparently has some issues with some controllers, I'm wondering what controllers would be a safe bet, and what to avoid. I have my eye on the Keystation Pro 88 because it would give me a nice set of controls, and a decent keyboard hopefully. I just have no idea if it would play nice with T2. Are there any other options in about the same price range (~$500 US) in case this is a no-go? I would like something that handled audio inputs as well. But headquest said his isn't supported by T2.

Any advice? $500 will still be a chore to get the wife to buy into, and I don't really need 88 keys. But it does look nice.

p.s. Anyone in the SF area want to trade a good midi controller for a EZ-AG midi guitar? I haven't really been inspired to play it myself and keys and knobs may do me more service.

braj, I have a Novation Remote 25 Audio from Musician's Friend for $399. It comes in "longer" versions but I don't know the prices. It plays perfectly with Tracktion, including the transport controls, and the action is quite good. The Novation website allows a free firmware download that turns this controller keyboard into a standalone synth that sounds very nice. Highly recommended all the way around.

The 49 key version doesn't look like it's available anywhere. I'll keep an eye out though. The transport controls work in T2? That's a big +.

of course, you'd need to get a keyboard on top of that ;)

Nah, it would wobble and restrict access to the knobs, surely . . . .

OK, I traded my EZ-AG for a Yamaha CS1x, it has six controllers and a five octave KB, and is a pretty decent and easy to edit little guy. Plus it matches the outside paint job of my house. Must be fate :D

That BCR2000 looks perfect now, maybe I'll try selling my StudioMix. It doesn't play well with T2 anyway. The BCR2000 is only $129 US at zzsounds. That's awfully tempting. It does play nice with T2? I really don't mind rotary knobs for mixing anyway.

Nice! Now all I need is for Jules to implement some sort of preset system so I can have settings for all my synths using the CS1x, and use MCU mapping for the Behringer. That would be sweet! I'm planning on getting it, as of this moment. Thanks!

Does that thing have transport controls?

it has LOADS of buttons on it, which you can map to anything you like.

incidentally, i'm currently working on a 'virtual-MCU' application which can run alongside T2. rather than write up another guide and expect people to bother remapping everything in MIDIOX (which is an absolute pig when you have to remap loads), i thought i'd make this.

it'll basically let you remap any input midi device to MCU (with MIDI learn to save hassle). it requires a virtual midi patch cable like midiyoke or similar, but it sits happily alongside T2. heck, i might even make it use your current T2 skin for its appearance :hihi:
