Hi,
I would like to know how can I change the words next to
the piano roll? I was editing a drum track and I was not using GM drum sound bank (say I have 4 snare sound, 10 kick sound). That's why I want to customize the words next the the piano roll.
Thanks
laiben

I don't believe it can be done at this time

It was actually requested.laiben wrote:sigh... I should request this feature before T2 release!!!!
I know there is some way, I believe using the sampler. Someone offered a drum kid download a long time ago that showed the drum names in the piano roll, so something is possible.
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

In the sampler you can rename each imported wave file , and you can import the same file multiple times
For drum maps I import a very small wav file containing silence, map it to the midi note of the drum sound I want to trigger, then rename it with the name of the drum sound I want to trigger. Repeat this for each drum sound. Then, put the sampler in front of the VST (or midi output) you want to trigger and the names will appear in the piano roll (you have to set the piano roll to scale of 1 octave to see them) Save this setup as a sampler preset and you can reuse it in any project

So in theory some kind of filter that performs a similar function to the sampler does here, i.e. allowing one to name/rename ranges of the keyboard (but without having to load up 'silent' waves) would be ideal. If one can already do it using the sampler like this then it's obvious that it can be done. I'll try your way l8r & see how it works.

Good thinking! I don't suppose you've made a GM drum sounds patch have you..?johnl wrote:In the sampler you can rename each imported wave file , and you can import the same file multiple times

Have not created one. For external midi gear, you dont need to create one, just set you midi clip to channel 10 and the names appear in Traction automatically.
If you try this with the sampler (ie, put it in a track, create midi clip, set it to channel 10) the names dont appear.
However, if you put the sampler in a rack filter, then insert the rack filter into the track and set to channel 10, the names come back....
Best fit for me so far is Reason. If you select Redrum, names for each drum pad appear in the midi clip

Damn
never noticed this - set to redrum (any chanel) it does indeed show you the names of the variuos hits & also all the rest of the midi key mapping (e.g. mutes). cool.

Cool - the sampler trick will allow me to build a map with the names of the various rebirth pattern selections etc. - so i don't have to keep refering to the bloody manual all the time when i have a go at controlling it via tracktion & midiyoke. Very sweet tip johnl. (Just wish I could do something similar for midi cc's).
