Seems like an sutomation snapshot facility would be useful - perhaps 3 options: volume and pan only - one filter only - and whole mix...

Snapshot automation. the single most underated feature in the DAW world. No in nuendo, No in ProTools. No in Tracktion. I have alwaz wondered why....
They copy consoles to the core. Why leave out snapshots ?

an example: your mixing a song and you decide to add an intro for which you want a different mix.
on another level: you may be mixing a song verse - chorus etc. you want a certain mix for the verse and another - filter settings and all for the chorus. Then lets say you do a more aggressive chorus mix idea and want to change the choruses..
there are two notions of automation: one is for tweaks and riding - the kind you want to record and edit. The other is for managing "mix states" - like a preset on a console. Like a horizontal style and a vertical style.

or to put it more in sync w/ Tracktions ease of goofing around: you may have automation going. but you might turn it off and then twiddle till you like the sound of a section. But there's no way to insert that new mix into your automation: you would have to enter a new point for each tweaked value!

Yup - I've been asking for this since automation first appeared...
I'd always figured that the easiest approach would be to have automation record function when playback is stopped. If record is active, and playback is stopped, any automation tweaks would be written at the current cursor location.

snapshot in it's most basic form... have a mix ready. want to preserve it, but try and tweak a few instances.
Take a snapshot of the first mix. Tweak what you want. Take a snapshot of the second mix.
During playback toggle snapshots on the fly for an immediate AB comparison.
I think this feature would be killer! Very so often im scared to make small adjustments for fear of loosing the original settings. Automation is not your friend here.
One can argue (as they do so often) that you save another edit. But the time it would take to load another edit can often kill a perspective. Im adding this to the further improvements thread.

yes yes yes !!!!!!!!!!!!! very very usefull and easy to implement cos saving an edit is nearly the same. having them switchable in one edit is great. you can directly compare if the changes you've made to all the filters makes your overall sound really better than it was. yes please...

Let me support this request. Snapshots would definitely help me a lot! Just spent again about 6 hours with T2, preparing some production for after it's released and playing with different setups that I will need regularly. If I could take snapshots of a mix (including effects and plugins such as Final Mix), it would be so much easier to compare the versions and keep the best. Snapshots please!
