Hi everybody!
Do you have a feature request regarding shortcut keys in Tracktion?
Post them in this thread!
Here's my suggestions...
mixing (a new category!)
-------------------------------------
1)
mute/un-mute those tracks that contain selected clips
2)
solo/un-solo those tracks that contain selected clips
3)
Increase the volume of those tracks that contain selected clips
(the leftmost volume/pan filter in selected tracks)
comment:
I also think a volume-filter and a pan-filter should appear in the property panel when you select several clips or tracks.
4)
Decrease the volume of those tracks that contain selected clips (the rightmost volume/pan filter)
5)
Pan those tracks that contain selected clips left.
6)
Pan those tracks that contain selected clips right.
things I miss from T1...
------------------------------------
7)
"delete" is no longer available for mapping
comment:
please make it available again, I was man enough to handle it, and I still am...
8 )
"jump backwards to next cut point" is removed/forgotten
9)
"jump forwards to next cut point" is removed/forgotten
comment:
These two were good alternatives to "move to the previous marker" and "move to the next marker"
moving/zooming controls
---------------------------
10)
zoom to fit the selected clips both horizontally and vertically.
comment:
This one would be very handy I think...just select some clips, press the key and you're ready to start editing them!
11)
There's a great new command in T2 called "zoom to fit horizontally and vertically". If you keep it pressed down a while before you release it, you get back to the previous horizontal zoom-level.
Improvment:
It would be even better in my opinion if the vertical zoom-level was kept as well, and the
tracks were scrolled up or down to show the clip(s) that's selected before you release the key.
editing functions
------------------------
12)
move selected clips to back of z-order.
Does this one really work? Seems like only two of the stacked clips switch place time after time...
midi editors control
--------------------------
13)
Toggle between the tools in the midi editor

In T2 you can move notes up/down/left/right with- transpose 1 semitone up and down, move selected midi data up/down
- split clips at mark in /out
tkay
"nudge selected clips up" and so on...
That's not very obvious though, so I understand if you missed it. Maybe the new manual mention it.
Your second idea would be nice to combine with new
command to place both mark-in and mark-out at the
cursor. Then you could just drag from that position to select a region and cut it.
