exactly right. You don't use Quark to write a novel...
That's an excellent analogy for anyone familiar with Quark.
Maybe you can explain it to me then? I dont see what that analogy has to do with Tracktion supposedly being aimed at "prosumers" (through Mcnn no less  ).

Since when is Quark a "prosumer" product? Quark is probably still the industry standard in publishing layouts (eventhough adobe indesign is a better product ;) ) Its a very professional product. Of course you dont write novels with it becuase thats not what its meant for. No matter what level you are Pro, or amateur. Dont get it.

:?
I wasn't making any 'prosumer' comment, just agreeing that Tracktion isn't akin to Quark ie. a large, complex but powerful application more akin for a publisher than a writer (similarly Cubase being better suited for a producer than a musician). A producer's 'pro' tools aren't necessarily the same as a musician's 'pro' tools. Though both a producer and musician are professionals.

This "Tracktion is a powerful toy" attitude is just the pro audio equivalent of a very old and well-known misconception: "If she is pretty and puts out (cheap in our little analogy) she must be stupid".

I swear I’m going to marry a tramp!

I'm definitely pro summer! Very so!
