Almost all the plugs are freeware, but FinalMix is worth the price of the package by itself. I would almost say that that the purchase is FinalMix with Tracktion 2 thrown in as an add-on.

If it's worth so much, why did tracktion give version 1 away for free with the FinalMix plugin then ?bugs wrote:Almost all the plugs are freeware, but FinalMix is worth the price of the package by itself. I would almost say that that the purchase is FinalMix with Tracktion 2 thrown in as an add-on.

Frankly, FinalMix is the one plug-in that I only liked until I used VintageWarmer. To my surprise, I could achieve much better sounding mixes with the following mastering combination: VintageWarmer plus EQ-ing (using the built-in EQ's because these are good enough) plus per-track compressors (third party plug-ins that are better than the internal ones).
FinalMix is therefore something I would happily see replaced with something else. But this is probably just me -- and maybe I am just too dumb to use FinalMix correctly!
T2 would probably be "perfect" for my needs if it came with 'StudioPhonik', Vintage Warmer, Kjaerhus effects, noise gate, and the Mackie 'dynamics suite' (already in the bundle). I guess this would be all I need. And I reckon that the plugin bundle alone is worth a multitude of the price of T2. Maybe they could have given us an easier to operate MIDI editor and fixed a few bugs "for the price of" a plugin that will now be a part of T2, but that's not how it works.

There's a lot of freeware, to be sure, but for the price of RMIV, Amplitube LE, and (hopefully, haven't seen what it comes with yet) Sampletank SE, you're already getting your money's worth, and that without the 5 Acuma plug-ins thrown into the mix...bugs wrote:Almost all the plugs are freeware, but FinalMix is worth the price of the package by itself. Or Tracktion itself.
(to the "I don't need those plug-ins" people--> yes, we know. We know you don't need them. Please don't bore me by telling us again.)

I have no idea other than to get you to try Tracktion, but I am grateful--wish I could use it in Cubase. It's an excellent plug.

i would serously consider paying $200 just for the Acuma dynamics processors.. (calling them compressors is doing them a disservice IMO).
And only a preset-whore could compare Final Mix to Vintage Warmer.

Meanwhile...Lunch Money wrote:BFD is the right choice for drums, and if you do decide you need to change your kit up, there's the option.
I have now compared the sound demos of BFD, Battery, and RMIV. BFD is of course great - but I found an even better sounding acoustic drum kit at Natural Studio, here's the demo and it has exactly the natural sound I was looking for: http://www.naturalstudio.co.uk/demos/ns ... 20demo.mp3
So I am now mapping this kit into my samplers (or use the Soundfont through sfz, whatever works better
And if I cannot get decent results with this sample bank, I'll get BFD

Actually, I said I was one. Or was. Or said I was. Did I? Whatever. I guess I am getting used to the groundhog club.sidhu wrote: Did I sayi was a drummer ???
A drummer is a guy who, during a pause in the rehearsing room, will sleep *inside* the kick drum, until the keyboarder wakes him up with a sudden kick of the drum pedal, which is the signal for the lazy drummer that the pause is over. Um, and I used to be the one who slept inside the kick drum. True story!sidhu wrote: whats a drummer ?
