Rendering Problem with Emu0404

I tried to render an entire mix that used some Emu 0404 effects - that's even with "render at 1x" selected - this is more than likely the same problem as the person with the Proteus X was having.

Any ideas?

(As for rendering the tracks which had the Emu effects, I just created an extra panel in the PatchMix software to create a loopback device, so all was not lost.)

you mean hardware calculated emu fx with the
send to emu 0404 vsti plugins?
These give a lot of trouble with tracktion,
if you updated patchmix there are these native
versions of the fx but these don't get calculated by the card and draw from host cpu so there is no
advantage, the emu software isn't wellwritten so avoid using the plugins, there are better sounding
alternative plugins anyway.

Depends what you want - I happen to like some of the plug-ins.

if you go in to a power fx plugin, in the top right is a button with a drop down arrow, in that dropdown you can turn on render mode!

Cheers Mr S!

Mind you, I might stick to the loopback solution anyway - if I'm rendering at 1x, I may as well listen to it!

this is how i all ways work ;)

it's also a good way of making shure that your end mix sounds how you wanted it to,

the only place i ever use those tricky little plugins is in my patch mix dsp!! at least thay are solid in that, so loop back would be the only way to bounce the track without loosing the fx in the patch mix

Speaking of the Emu DSP effects, I really like the frequency shifter - good for thickening of parts and more subtle than chorusing. The phoneme tool is interesting, too, but I don't think it's going to be too versatile!
