When looking at the T2 demo song I noticed the concept of sub-mixing. While I knew this was available in T1 I never really saw much of a need in it as it seemed that in T1 routing the output of 1 track to another seemed to just double up the sound. In T2 it doesn't to be doubling up the sound and to me seems to be a lot more functional.

Has the functionality of this feature changed between T1 and T2 or was I just doing something wrong with T1?

routing one track into another won't double up the sound.. i'm not sure what you might have done to cause that. T1 and T2 both behave in the same manner in this respect.

when you set the output for a track, if it's not going straight to an audio output, then it's going to another track.. there won't be any doubling as the only point it gets to the audio out is at the end of the destination track's path.

if you route it to a track that has a higher level set in its vol/pan filter, then it will get louder, of course.. any effects in the destination track will be applied to any tracks that are routed into it.

Thanks haydxn... I'll take another look at this tonight... It was late when I was looking at this and maybe I was dreaming... I guess the only way to test this would be to set the output of one track to another and mute the 2nd track. That should silence it...

it will indeed. it does have a slightly odd tho logical behaviour if you attempt to solo... soloing the track that feeds into the second track causes the second track to mute- which means that it doesn't get to the output..

soloing the second track mutes the first one, so you still don't hear it! you can ctrl-click the solo buttons tho to select multiple channels to solo

Just looking at T2 and this slightly different... If I solo the track that feeds into the 2nd, the 2nd track also goes to solo so it can play through...

Like you say though, if solo the 2nd track all the rest are muted so nothing plays. I wasn't aware of the <ctrl>click abilities... That's good to know...

Thanks much...
